Who We Are
In Israel, “The Shuk” is a market where patrons can purchase everything from prepared foods to a pair of sneakers. The Shuk is a lively open air market, full of hustle and bustle where entire communities converge.
In creating an Eastern Mediterranean dining experience for the Coastal Empire, we hope to bring the tastes of an Israeli Shuk to Savannah, GA.
At Shuk, whether by plan, happenstance, or fate, you can enjoy a falafel or a coffee with your neighbors. Shuk is a lively space for the Savannah community to come together, make new memories, and enjoy each other’s company over great food and drink.

Our Story
Shuk Mediterranean in Savannah, GA was dreamed up by our founder Alexis, a Boston native who has called Savannah home for four years. The Shuk concept, building, menu and brand was created by Alexis and her dedicated team of really good people.
In building Shuk, Alexis determined to create authentic guest experiences inspired by her heritage. The Shuk location on Habersham Street in Savannah has been painstakingly designed, renovated, and decorated to look and feel like an authentic place one might find in Israel or along the Mediterranean coast.
Originally planning to work in event planning, Alexis found her true calling, and shifted gears early in her career to hospitality.
The passion Alexis has for the cuisine is clear; she even named her cat Falafel!
